When photographer Louis Hoyt (Gene Barry) goes missing in communist China, his wife Jane (Susan Hayward) hires Hank Lee (Clark Gable), a friendly smuggler, to find him in Hong Kong. From then on, both will experience a series of vicissitudes that will unite them more and more.
