The Story of Ruth, 1960

Old Testament. The beautiful Ruth (Elana Eden) was sold as a child to followers of the Moabite god Chemos.

As a young girl, she is deeply moved by the suffering of a Jewish slave (Tom Tryon); she renounces idolatry and frees him by befriending her mother (Peggy Wood). A tragic event leads the two women to undertake a difficult journey to Jerusalem.
